TRAINING COORDINATION/STRENGTH FROM THE HORIZONTAL POSITION

It is very important to train the brain to be connected to the body in all different positions. Coordination  should be trained in a horizontal position as well as a vertical position.  Coordination training needs to also address moving in a forward, backward and sideward direction!

Below are two videos of elite athletes (2 runners, 2 soccer players, and 1 ski racer) training for COORDINATION( as well as STRENGTH) as they move in 2 "crawl-like" positions.

The first video is COMBAT CRAWLING

The second video is ALLIGATOR CRAWLING

 IN BOTH VIDEOS PLEASE NOTE:
-the mental challenge of connecting the brain to the body as they follow a tough movement pattern
-the opposite arm and leg coordinated movements
-the lightness of each athlete's hands and feet hitting the mat
-the timing of the hands and feet hitting the mat at the same time
-the strength to hold the position throughout the crawling pattern
