Stretching the Hip Flexors with "Angels on the Surface"

Ski Racers, like many athletes, battle tight hip flexors due to the position their sport puts them in.

During the winter, the racers at Waterville Valley Academy in New Hampshire recover their bodies in the water with me every afternoon after their ski training.

I always incorporate "Angels on the Surface" in their workout to counter that "flexed" position.  After a few sets of "Angels" they are able to lengthen their hip flexors and get better extension of the pelvis.

"Angels on the Surface" are an awesome way for these skiers to end a long day of sitting at school (hunched over a computer), and then running gates up on the hill!

Please note this type of training would clearly benefit every young athlete .......no matter what their sport!!! They all battle a flexed- at- the -hip position just from sitting in school all day!
